Zojirushi EB-CC15 Indoor Electric Grill Review

I've always been a fan of the Delonghi indoor grill and had my last model for a little over 8 years. One evening after cooking dinner, I noticed that the plug had become so hot that it actually melted and that's when I started looking around. I was encouraged by the reviews for the Zojirushi and for the price I thought I would give it a try. I was surprised at how light the base was and wondered how it would hold up under the heat. Well, I've used it about a dozen times now and it performs really well. It cooks evenly with very little smell or smoke - in fact the slight grill smell makes the kitchen smell tasty! I like the adjustable temperature and although other reviewers say that you have to have it set to high, I have actually had to turn it down. I also like that the sides of the meat cook through - one of the problems with the Delonghi was that the middle would be cooked, but the edges were still raw. Two things that prevented me from giving the Zojirushi 5 stars; 1-the base is slippery and if you have it on a smooth surface, it could easily slide right off the table and 2-there is no backsplash so if you are using a spatchula you have to be careful to not push the food right off the cooktop! I remediated both these issues by putting small rubber stops on the base and using plastic coated tongs for picking up or flipping food. All in all, it works great and that's what really counts.

Love it - tx3amigos - The great state of Texas
I got this after reading all the good reviews...so glad I did. Was all ready to get a foreman grill before I looked this one over.
Just love it:
--gets very hot
--lovely grill marks
--minimal smoke ( I use it on or near the stove top vent)
--food tastes great
I used someone else's suggestion and bought a disposable foil pan (one with handles) and use it as a lid. I think the food cooks faster and there seems to be no smoke at all

I've used my grill to cook chicken , pork chops and steaks so far! I love it. Thge meat was perfectly done and not dried out at all. The grill is super easy to clean, and the tip about putting the tin foil on the drip tray I got from another review is great. If you're going to cook steak, I've had better luck with NY Strip steak than the thicker steak like rib eye. I highly recommend this grill. Have fun with it!!!!

I bought this grill 4 months ago and have used it several times per week ever since. I am a very lazy cook with 3 hungry teens and a hubby who eats like he's a heavyweight boxer. So, I needed something that would cook and clean-up as easily as possible. I can turn on the grill (it has an adjustable thermostat), take out a package of frozen chicken, hamburger patties, whatever, prepare it as usual, and the grill is ready to go to work. Dinner is on the table in no time. Its non-stick surface is just that, making clean-up simple and quick.
I am quite happy with the surface area, as I can easily fit 8 large burgers on at once. I live in the frozen north, so the fact that this grill will also work indoors is plus.
It's portable, reliable, easy to use and clean, and a bargain compared to other outdoor grills.
George put his name on a very good product.
Update: I have owned this grill for 2 1/2 years now and it still works like new!

This is our second 14" health grill. Was not careful with the non-stick surface the first time so only used it 3 years. Can't be without this produce!! Highly recommend. With this one, the cord/heating element in the cord seemed to make the grill too hot even on the lowest setting so I used the old cord and it works great. Target would have replaced it but I didn't see the need (with the old cord handy).

Didn't hold the heat - Eleanor M. Sealey - Falls Church, Va, US
This is an acceptable grill. In trying to do some fish the grill heats up then gets stone cold. It's inconsistent, and I'm not getting the little crust on the skin of the salmon that I like. I would like to have known that the grill "heated" the fish, rather than actually "grilled" it, as I'm accustomed. I'll probably keep the grill, but wouldn't recommend it. There are so many other options available.

This is the perfect appliance for healthy cooking. I now do all of my meats on this grill and have used it a fair amount for grilling vegetables. Always perfect results. Meat is moist and tender - veggies very flavorful. I'm thrilled that I found this gril.

I bought this grill to replace another one of a different make. I didn't realize that is was so big. I still have not used it. There is just my husband and I and I expected something smaller. I got rid of the box it came in and the amazon box otherwise I would return it. Just does not meet our needs. We are both seniors.

I purchased this grill because I wanted something I could use year round and would fit in my apartment kitchen. I also like the griddle feature with the lid. This grill has exceeded all of my expectations. I have used it to grill steaks, chicken breasts, and even hot dogs and hamburgers for the 4th of July. Each food was perfectly cooked. The grill is not completely smokeless especially if you are using a rub or something like that, but it is no worse than my normal stove top cooking. The grill top is very easy to clean, I just use hot soapy water and a sponge. The only thing annoying thing so far is that the bottom of the grill is not non stick so congealed things take a good bit of scrubbing to remove. You also have to be careful to keep the power cord plug in area dry. The only upgrade or change that I would like is a some kind of cover to make storage easier. But all in all I am happy with my purchase.

This grill surprised me, I read the dimensions on the product, but it still is larger than expected. It has loads of cooking area. It does take a while to heat up, but does a great job of cooking. Cooked chicken breast come out tender and moist. I'm still learning to grill steak without over cooking them. Only draw back is the gridle and grill are one piece and one temperature, it would be nice to cook at different temps.

Love this grill... I have a large kitchen with plenty of counter and storage space. I keep this right next to the kitchen sink so clean up is very easy... Take the grill plate off put one end in the sink use a brush and it cleans up very easy... The bottom that you but water in is super easy also.
It does a beautiful job of grilling and there is more then enough room for several items.... The griddle area is great for cooking fresh garden vegies....

With water in the bottom tray have no problem with smoking.... Like it and use it often.

As you can see from the numerous customer reviews, the latest G5 grill is really outstanding. My wife and love to grill salmon, pork chops, burgers, and more. The grill does a great job of removing the fat, but it's not so great at crisping things.

At the time of my posting this review, Amazon had a special offer on the GRP90WGP model, and I'm sure some readers are wondering what's the difference between that one and the GRP90WGR. Both grills are identical, same grills, same inserts. The only difference is the color. The Amazon site suggests that they are different size and weights, but this is not true. The WGP model is platinum colored, and the WGR is red (hence the P and R). So unless you're trying to color coordinate your kitchen, you might want to consider getting the cheaper model.

To make a grilled cheese sandwich (or any other hot sandwich), I get this press good and hot while preheating the pan, then just put in the sandwich with this on top. No need to flip and the sandwich comes out perfectly browned on both sides!

Only improvement would be had it come pre-assembled with hardware that fit flush. The screws are in deep indentations that collect food and require extra effort to clean. Also, the fit of the nuts is kind of poor for the screws. I actually had to use pliers to put them on (not to tighten, mind you, just to get them onto the screws). Hence the 4-star rating.

One other thing -- they claim it is pre-seasoned, but the screws definitely are not and I found that even the cast iron portion stuck to food the first couple uses, so you may want to season it yourself before use.

Good weight, poor handle design - Kaia - USA
Apparently I didn't do my research very well when ordering this press. The weight of the press is nice, but it is smooth underneath (I assumed it would have the ridges like the grill pan). Perhaps that was my mistake, but I didn't see anything explicitly stated in the product description about that). Another problem with this grill press is that the handle must be assembled/attached by hand, and the way the handle screws into the press leaves nooks and crannies for bits of food and grease to get stuck. The "cool grip" handle gets hot and overall feels sort of springy/flimsy. It is also painted black, not sliver like in the picture. I am returning this and getting the panini press instead.
