Wolfgang Puck WPRGG0010 1800-Watt Reversible Nonstick Grill and Griddle Review

So over the past 20 or so years, I've owned dozens of griddles. Use them mostly to cook breakfast foods, like: pancakes, bacon, eggs, etc.. There are always two problems with most griddles. Hot spots (cooking surface is not consistent, due to the heating element not covering the entire surface), and the non-stick surface wearing out quickly. I've had this griddle now for almost a year and I couldn't be happier with it. I love the fact it has 2 sides to cook on, a flat griddle side and a grilling side. The non-stick surface has held up beautifully and I would have given this a 5-star rating but there are a couple of hot spots, it's barely noticeable, and once you figure out where they are, you can work around it. I think it's just the nature of the beast when using an electric heating element, you just can't get a perfectly consistent heat around the whole surface. I was weary about buying such an expensive griddle, so I asked for it as a gift and got it, knowing what I know now, I would have gladly paid the money to buy one for myself.

Nicely constructed - William Hooper - Kansas City
I don't normally buy products with a "Big" name associated to it because they are often just about the hype of the big name rather a quality item. In this case, after reading the reviews, I took the plunge and am really happy that I did. First of all the overall heft of the grill is impressive. It feels solid and the workmanship is good quality. I have had this grill for over three months now and have not a single complaint about it. The surface on both sides has no blemishes to the non-stick material. The heating is even across the entire surface and seems to retain the set temperature very well. Clean up is a breeze even without the unit being submersible. If you are looking for a good quality indoor grill/griddle, you wont be sorry with this unit.

So far, so good! - Sharon L. Nawalanic - Fort Lauderdale, FL USA
I wanted a griddle to make pancakes, eggs, etc... I seasoned it as stated before first time use, but I find that I pretty much have to
repeat the procedure before or after every use. I have not washed it with soap- just wiped it off. I do find that like most griddles the oil is apparently building up around the edges and in corners where it is not used. Tried unsuccessfully to scrape this off... It is very slow to heat up, thus the four stars.

Great but bulky - phannie - San Francisco, CA, USA
This griddle/grill filled my needs of wanting a 2 in 1 combo set w/o having too many things to clean.
I've cooked steaks and veggies on the grill and pancakes and fresh tortillas on the griddle. I haven't noticed uneven heat distribution nor strange markings on the surface as others have noted. I love the grill/griddle - only thing I don't like is how bulky it is! It's sleek in design (looks nice and doesn't have many parts to it) BUT it's huge. The thing is a giant and a pain to put away in a cabinet. I have an average size kitchen, but I don't have enough counter to keep this thing out. It's either cram it into a cabinet or buy a new shelving unit to hold it (which I might do.) It's wide and it's long - definitely not for tiny apartment kitchens.

Other than that, I've had a good experience with it. It cleans pretty easy (although it may be difficult if you have a small sink) and it heats up quickly.
